TSC students and staff give back to the community
Throughout the holiday season, TSC students and staff are giving back to the community through food drives, penny wars and other activities.

Several schools conducted food drives or will be collecting donations through the end of December. So far, TSC schools have donated around 30,000 pounds of food for Food Finders Food Bank or local food pantries. East Tipp Middle School led the way with nearly 16,000 pounds of food, which is a new school record. "The previous record was 15,026 set in 2013-14 school year," says East Tipp Principal Shaad Buss. "Since 2001, East Tipp has collected 172,292 pounds of food for Food Finders."

Battle Ground Elementary, Mayflower Elementary and Southwestern Middle School are among schools conducting penny drives, Cole Elementary is collecting items for Heartford House, Hershey and Wyandotte are donating wreaths for veterans and McCutcheon High School is gathering donations to help hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.

The act of giving can be one of the most rewarding experiences we can share with our students this holiday season. Thank you to our teachers and staff who serve as positive role models and coordinate the fundraising activities.
