Words from Mr. Simmons...

Thanks for another great week of leading and learning at Dayton Elementary School.  We have a very busy week coming up next week.  Parent/teacher conferences will be next Tuesday and Thursday.  Our teachers are looking forward to meeting with you to discuss the progress of your student.

We are also so proud of Levi Null and Paige Focosi who presented to the school board on Wednesday evening about their leadership notebooks.  They represented Dayton very well and did a fantastic job!  Great work, Levi and Paige!  Also, a special shout out to Mrs. Emerson for speaking about the notebooks!

In the below links, you'll find lots of information about Halloween activities, ILEARN links and signing up for TSC Alerts and Notifications, especially with winter just around the corner.

Again, we look forward to seeing you next week at conferences!  Have a great week!

- Mr. Simmons, Principal

Families can receive instant messages via email or text from the TSC through our website. Click on the "Parents" tab at the top and look for the link to "TSC Alerts & Notifications" with instructions on how to create an account. Habit 1 Be Proactive

Leader In Me Habit Home Runs

As anticipated, our Bulldogs are letting their leadership skills shine not only at school but at home as well!  Our Habit Home Run display (located near the office) is full of great examples of proactive actions parents have witnessed and slips continue to trickle in daily.  Check it out at conferences next week!

If you did not read about it in the last newsletter (or see the slip sent home) or just need a refresher, here it is:

Each month, we will spotlight a different Leader in Me habit. A slip (with the habit explained) will be sent home for parents to fill out describing a time when their child has already exemplified the spotlighted habit.  When slips are returned, they will be displayed for all to see.  Remember, In sharing your child's positive choice, please respect the privacy of other individuals by not including their names.

Bulldogs, keep hitting it out of the ballpark!

Go to the link below to donate directly. To buy lemonade from our stand, send in $1 with your child on October 23rd and/or come buy a glass yourself. Help us reach our goal of $400!

Volunteer

Want to Volunteer?

It is a priority of the Tippecanoe School Corporation to provide a safe learning environment for all of our students and employees. In an effort to continue our due diligence, we now require all volunteers having ongoing contact with children and/or supervising students (field trips, ect.) to have cleared an expanded criminal background check. These background checks are conducted through Background Investigation Burear (BIB).

The criminal background check will search national sex offender databases, court records, and other sources. The cost of the criminal history check is $17.95 (base cost) and is paid for by the volunteer through a link on our website.

Once approved, the volunteer will receive a TSC Volunteer identification card that will be valid for a period od three (3) years. If you volunteer in multiple buildings, you will only need to complete one background check.

Volunteer background checks may take several business days to process so it is important to plan ahead.

We appreciate your understanding of this important safety guideline.
