Words from Mr. Simmons...

Happy Friday, everyone!  Thank you for your attendance at parent teacher conferences.  We feel like conferences are a great opportunity for parents and teachers to work with one another to build a positive experience for the students.  If you did not make it to your conference, please contact your child's teacher.  We want to make sure that we meet with you!

We also hope you had a wonderful time at the Fall Festival! Thanks to our PTO for putting on this great event!

Please remember that we are on Fall Break on Friday, October 26th and Monday, October 29th.  We hope that your student has a great break!  We look forward to seeing them back to school on Tuesday, October 30th.

Have a great weekend and a wonderful break!

Many Thanks

We are sending a Huge Thank You to all the parents that donated, helped, and supported the Fall Festival, Book Fair, and Parent/Teacher conferences.  Without your help we would not have been able to pull off these events!  Also a special thank you to our PTO staff, Michelle Zaremba, Richlyn Rice, Alison Swick, and Angela McMurray we appreciate the many hours you dedicate to our staff and students!  We are truly blessed to have you supporting our school!

A Note From The Office

Dayton has purchased new recess balls and jump ropes for students to use at recess.

We are now asking for students to Not bring their own recess balls, slime, or any other toys to school.  Thank you for cooperation!

A Note From The Nurse

*With the weather getting colder that means more germs are present. Please consider being vaccinated for the flu and remember that hand washing is the best thing in preventing the spread of infection and illness.

Students should not come to school with vomiting, diarrhea, fever over 100°, eye infections, or undiagnosed skin rashes.  Students with vomiting, diarrhea, or fever over 100º should not return to school until the symptoms have resolved without medication for 24 hours.  If you take you child to the doctor please send in the doctor's note so we can excuse them for any days missed.

*The nurse's office is in need of extra gloves and children's  pants. We appreciate any donations!

The Leader in Me

Leader In Me Habit Home Runs

Our next habit that we will spotlight is Habit 2, Begin With the End in Mind.  This means thinking about how you would like something to turn out before taking action.  Please be on the look out for this paper to come home.  Share with us how your child has demonstrated this habit.

Bulldogs, keep hitting it out of the ballpark!

Want to Volunteer?

It is a priority of the Tippecanoe School Corporation to provide a safe learning environment for all of our students and employees. In an effort to continue our due diligence, we now require all volunteers having ongoing contact with children and/or supervising students (field trips, ect.) to have cleared an expanded criminal background check. These background checks are conducted through Background Investigation Burear (BIB).

The criminal background check will search national sex offender databases, court records, and other sources. The cost of the criminal history check is $17.95 (base cost) and is paid for by the volunteer through a link on our website.

Once approved, the volunteer will receive a TSC Volunteer identification card that will be valid for a period od three (3) years. If you volunteer in multiple buildings, you will only need to complete one background check.

Volunteer background checks may take several business days to process so it is important to plan ahead.

We appreciate your understanding of this important safety guideline.
