FROM THE DESK OF MRS. FIELDS

Have you  been wondering what happened to the "Hershey Notes"?  We have adopted a new system where we send important information as it comes available rather than wait  until a scheduled publication. It is our hope that you will get what you need in a more timely fashion.

It just so happens that we have so much information that we wanted to share today, we are using our old Hershey Notes system, so sit back and enjoy!

Our annual Veteran's Day Program is slated for November 12.  If you have a veteran friend or family member that you would like us to honor on this special day, please notify us as soon as possible by calling our office.  We wish that we could invite our entire Hershey family to this event; however, the capacity of our facility cannot accommodate our students, staff, veteran guests and parents.  We will be sure to take pictures and send them out to you!

Supplies for the Hospitality Room following the Veterans Program are requested.  A list of requested items and sign up sheet can be found Here.  We thank you for your help.

BUS SAFETY

In the wake of the tragic incident in Fulton County, we are reviewing our bus safety policies. Please remind your child to wait for their bus driver to give the "all clear" signal for them to board the bus by making eye contact with the driver . Because the bus driver sits at a higher viewpoint, Greg Haltom, TSC's Director of Transportation, says the driver has the best chance to catch a car that isn't stopping and warn the student.

Hershey Safety Guidelines

  • Front Parking Lot is for Buses Only during arrival times (8:30-8:50) and dismissal times (3:15-3:40)
  • Back Parking Lot is for car riders.
  • Car riders should always use door #7 in the back of the building for arrival and dismissal.

Please remember:

  • Having cars and students in designated bus space creates danger for all of us.
  • No early arrivals.  Doors open at 8:45 and classes begin at 8:55.  No supervision is available before 8:45.
  • Safety is our first concern for your child.

We are so fortunate to have a caring conscientious group of bus drivers.  If so inclined, write them a note of gratitude for all that they do.

DOORS AT HERSHEY

Thank you all parents and visitors to Hershey for your patience to be admitted to Hershey when you ring the doorbell.  From the time we implemented this procedure many years ago we have never had any complaints.

Our students are instucted and strictly adhere to the policy that they should never admit anyone, including their parent into the building, unless given permission from the Hershey Office Staff.  Parents/Visitors - we remind you as well to not open the door for visitors.

We welcome visitors and we appreciate your assistance with this safety procedure.
