Congratulations Mrs. Korty has received funding from Donors Choose for her "Motor On" class project. This is very exciting for her to get some extra resources for the classroom. Way to go Mrs. Korty!
Daylight Savings Time Daylight savings time begins Sunday March 11th. Make sure to turn you clocks forward 1 hour. Movie Night PTO is having our next Movie Night on Friday, March 16th right after school. We will be showing the movie Ferdinand. The cost will be $8 for the movie and snack pack. Forms and money will be due by Thursday, March 15th. Your child will need to be picked up at 5:30 pm. Dayton Summer Rec Fundraiser *DSR is selling Parrott's Pork Burgers to help support the DSR program. You can purchase a 3lb box (original or bacon) for $12.00 a box. Please make checks payable to Dayton Summer Rec. Extra forms are available in the office. Forms and payments are due by April 4th. For questions please contact Randy Risner at 765-413-5614. *DSR is hosting a "Hitting Homers for Landyn" on Sunday March 18th from 11:30 am-4:30 pm at the Dayton baseball fields. They will have a winter carnival, concession, and auction. Please come to help support a local family in there time of need. Dental Safari The Dental Safari will be visiting Dayton on Tuesday, April 10th. They offer all types of dental services for your child and accept cash, private insurance, medicaid, and offer grants for children who are on the free and reduced lunch program. Bulldog Jog 5K Color run Dayton PTO will be having our first ever color run on Saturday, April 28th. Registration will start at 8:00 am, and the run will begin at 9:00 am. Please look for more information to come home soon. Criminal Justice Day Ivy Tech will be hosting a criminal justice day on Thursday, April 19th from 9:00 am- noon. Criminal Justice Day provides a unique opportunity to meet with local, state, and federal criminal justice professionals. They will have K-9 demonstrations, drone demonstrations, and child fingerprinting. Purdue Bug Bowl The 28th annual Bug Bowl will be Saturday, April 14th and Sunday, April 15th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be lots of fun activities for the whole family. One fun event is their Insect Art Contest. This is a great opportunity to showcase your students' work. Pre-registration is required and artwork must be submitted by April 5th. Box Top Raffle Our next Box Top raffle will be Friday, March 9th. The winner will receive a free ticket and snack pack to our next movie night on Friday, March 16th. Mobile Library The Mobile Library will be visiting Dayton from now through May. There location will be on Nicely Drive from 5:00 pm-5:30 pm on the following dates. PTO News Join us for our next PTO meeting on Thursday, May 3rd at 6:00 pm in the media center. We will vote on new officers at this meeting so please come and we would love to hear your input. Did you know The TSC website offers lots of great tools for your child to use at home. They have access to typing games, math games, reading games, and much more. To access this log into the TSC website, on the homepage select student, on the right side of the screen go to the Elem. Tech Lab tab. Games are then broken down by grade. This is a fantastic way for your child to continue to work on these skills at home while having fun!
