NEWSLETTER
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL
We are off to a great start here at The Mill. Each month you will receive a newsletter via email. Please be sure to look these over as they are filled with important information about what is going on in our building. Just a reminder, we no longer print newsletters and lunch menus for each student. Lunch and breakfast menus can be found on the TSC website. Don't forget you can call the school if you have any questions.
VISITORS
If you plan to be a visitor at MME you must sign in at the office and receive a visitor's badge. If you are simply dropping off an item to your child, we ask that you do not interrupt class, rather just drop the item in the office and we will make sure your student gets it. If you wish to speak with a teacher, please set up a time that is convenient with them. This can be done via email or by leaving the teacher a voicemail. Instruction time is vital and we prefer not to interrupt the classroom unless absolutely necessary.
LUNCH VISITS
Please feel free to join your child for lunch on any given day. We do ask that you call us by 10:30am so we can notify the cafeteria with plenty of notice. We also ask that you do not bring fast food into the school building. You are more than welcome to bring in a sack lunch or eat a school lunch. Thank you for your understanding! Adult lunches are $2.70. Please bring exact change.

CAR RIDER STUDENTS
If your child is a car rider you must use the car rider line at the back door. Car rider students may not enter or exit through the front doors. Please DO NOT drop off your children before 8:45am and leave. The teachers and staff are in meetings and are not available to supervise your student. The car rider doors have adults supervising them from 8:45-9:00am. If your student arrives later than 9:00am please bring them in the front entrance and sign them in Tardy at the office. This is for their safety. Students are only considered tardy if they arrive after 9:00 am. Please see the car rider map below. If you have further questions you may call the office at (765)538-3875. Thank you.
A REMINDER FROM THE NURSE
Please do not send your child to school if they have had a temperature over 100, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours. If a student is sent home from school for fever, vomiting or diarrhea they will be out the following day as well. Students CANNOT bring medicine to school. All medicines & inhalers have to be brought to school BY THE PARENT. Cough drops CANNOT be sent to school either, we have cough drops in the health room students can take when needed.
ATTENDANCE
Please don't forget to call or email the school in the event your child is absent. You can call the office at 765-538-3875 anytime. You can leave a message if no one is available to take your call. If you prefer to email, you may do that also. Please email both Cheryl and Danielle at cnoble@tsc.k12.in.us and dekochert@tsc.k12.in.us. Thank you!
TARDY STUDENTS
If your student arrives to school after 9am, they are tardy. You must come into the office and sign him/her in. Once your student has been signed in Tardy, a pass will print for your child to take to their teacher. To avoid further classroom interruption, your student is expected to walk to class on their own. If they need assistance walking to class we will gladly help them. Not signing your student in could result in them accidentally being counted absent for the entire day. If possible, please contact the office to inform us your child will be Tardy and give us their lunch preference.
PICKING UP STUDENTS DURING SCHOOL HOURS
If you need to pick up your child for an appointment during the school day, please send a note with your child or call the office. You must come into the building to sign your student out in the office. Please note that after 3pm, the office will not interrupt your child's class.
VOLUNTEERS/ FIELD TRIP CHAPERONES
If you, or anyone you know, plans to chaperone a field trip or volunteer in the classroom a limited criminal background check must be completed. One form will be sent home with each child the first week of school. If you need another form please call the school and we will send one with your child. A new background check must be completed each school year.
Register for TSC alerts and notifications
With the launch of the new TSC websites, the TSC and each of its schools will be transitioning away from Pinwheel for SMS (text) alerts and notifications and will instead utilize the communication options available within the new website. Parents/guardians, staff, and students can sign in to the website and register to receive alerts, calendar reminders, athletic updates, and more.
Parents/guardians must have an active PowerSchool Parent Portal account with an accurate email address in order to sign in to the website. To sign in for the first time, parents/guardians will click the "Forgot Username or Password" option on the website login page, then enter the email address that is associated with their PowerSchool Parent Portal account. Parents/guardians will then be able to reset the password for their website account, then add a cell phone number and register for SMS (text) alerts.
TSC students and staff will sign in to the website with their TSC username and password. Click here for step by step directions.
Please contact the TSC Technology Department with any questions regarding this process by email or by phone at 765-269-8060.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Mayflower Mill is always collecting Box Tops! Please send your unexpired Box Tops in to the office in a plastic bag or glue them to a piece of paper. Be sure to include your child's name and teacher. All proceeds go back to our classrooms.
