Technology plays an integral role in the daily operations of the Tippecanoe School Corporation. The Technology Department serves students and staff by providing both technical and instructional support, professional development, and logistical assistance.
Instructional Support: At the TSC, we believe integrating technology into the instructional process has the potential to positively impact the educational experiences we provide to our students. The availability of technology and high quality digital resources allows for students to demonstrate creativity and innovation, to communicate and collaborate, to research and evaluate information, and to think critically. Digital tools, resources, and practices are embedded into the curriculum to support the corporation’s instructional goals and enhance student achievement. Collaboration with teachers and administrators, along with ongoing professional development, help to support the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning at the TSC.
Throughout the TSC: Technical oversight and support are provided for all hardware, software, and connectivity considerations. These efforts serve to maintain the corporation's data systems, network, and telecommunications, each of which are critical to the efficient operation of the organization.
New Staff Laptops - Important Information
To meet our goal of a four-year replacement cycle for laptop computers, the current staff laptops (HP Elitebook Folio) will be replaced later this spring. The Lenovo Thinkpad L380 was selected as the next staff device.
The Thinkpad L380 is a "2 in 1 convertible" style laptop that folds 360-degrees and offers full touch screen functionality, along with an onboard Wacom stylus. A convertible device with touch screen functionality will allow tactile interaction with digital content/media while also allowing movement throughout the classroom. The TSC Connected Learning Team is excited to host another summer filled with professional learning opportunities. A collection of short, two-hour PD sessions have been designed to support TSC teachers in their use of technology and digital resources. All sessions will be held at the TSC Tech Center on various days throughout the summer.
Staff members are encouraged to register soon, as each session requires a minimum of 10 attendees to be offered. We hope to see you there!
