Students from Battle Ground Middle School learned about manufacturing and possible careers in the industry at the Manufacturing Expo at the River City Community Center. The event, sponsored by Greater Lafayette Commerce, had students work through four different stages: Design it, Produce it, Move it and Support it.

"The students were able to explore careers ranging from human resources, energy machining, engineering and more," says Battle Ground sixth grade science teacher Michelle Webb. "The companies did a great job showing students different types of careers that are available in our community."

Klondike Middle School also participated in the Manufacturing Expo.

Students from Harrison High School and McCutcheon High School toured local manufacturing plants this week. They explored technology that is used at local facilities and requirements for employment. 

Students from Dayton Elementary School and Klondike Elementary School participated in a manufacturing workshop at Ivy Tech Community College. Students moved to different stations to learn about the supply chain, robotics and processes to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
