The Tippecanoe School Corporation has appointed Brian Eaton as the new assistant principal of Wea Ridge Middle School. He replaces Dan Peo who took an administrative position at Avon High School.
Eaton coached and taught government, history and economics classes at McCutcheon High School for 14 year before being named athletic director at Clinton Prairie High School in 2017. He has a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University.
Eaton will oversee student discipline, special education, attendance and other duties at the school of almost 750 students and 75 staff members.
“He is an enthusiastic, student-centered leader that will continue to build our school culture with his positive demeanor and energy,” says Wea Ridge Middle School Principal Fred Roop. “During the interview process, it was clear that Mr. Eaton's experience in the classroom and as an administrator will serve him well as he begins this new position.”
Eaton says he was attracted to the position because of his familiarity with the district, potential for professional growth and the strong sense of community among students and staff at Wea Ridge Middle.
“Students and families should expect me to be visible and approachable,” Eaton says. “I will work tirelessly in seeking the best outcome for students while holding them accountable to the high standards of Wea Ridge Middle School and the TSC.”
The TSC Board of School Trustees ratified Eaton’s administrative contract at its meeting June 8.
