The Tippecanoe School Corporation has named Gloria Grigsby as principal of McCutcheon High School. Grigsby, who once taught Spanish at the school, replaces John Beeker, who is retiring after 19 years.  

Grigsby was drawn to the position because it was an opportunity to return home. “The school holds a special place in my heart,” says Grigsby. “My first high school teaching position was at McCutcheon High School and it is where I learned I loved the high school setting, high school students and the McCutcheon community. The chance to continue the strong tradition at McCutcheon was appealing and I am honored to lead the staff and community into the future.”

Grigsby served as an assistant principal for student services and curriculum at Harrison High School for the past four years. Prior to that, she taught Spanish for more than 12 years and served on the administrative team for a year and a half at McCutcheon High School. Grigsby holds a master’s degree from Purdue University and bachelor’s degree from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Grigsby says she is excited to rejoin the administrative team at McCutcheon. “As a bilingual leader, I look forward to communicating personally with all of the McCutcheon stakeholders,” says Grigsby. “I lead with a passion for preparing our students for their individual futures and I am so proud to join a faculty who cares for students and strives to reflect and improve.”

“Mrs. Grigsby is a highly capable, enthusiastic administrator who will provide a smooth transition at McCutcheon,” says TSC Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback. “She brings a clear vision for building on the school’s successes. Her collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, passion for people and tremendous tenacity towards student learning will guide her approach leading McCutcheon into the future.”

The TSC Board of School Trustees ratified Grigsby’s administrative contract at its May 12 meeting.
